Premier & Senior Divisions. 17/18th November, 2018. Venue: Pakuranga CC.
Sunny skies and good paced lawns were the order of the day for the top two divisions of the Auckland GC Grades competition.
The Senior section had only 4 entries, so this event was played as a one day event, double round robin. The convincing winner was Gill Railey (Pt. Chevalier) who won all her 6 games. Runner up was Jack Yates (Carlton) on 3/6 wins.
The Premier section had 8 entries with players from 6 different clubs. This was played over two days with everyone playing each other twice. At the end of the first day Rod Templeman (North Shore) & the manager, Nelson Morrow (Warkworth) were tied on 6/7 wins. Scott Martins (Pukekohe) caused upsets on the sunday beating both Rod and Nelson, but Nelson managed to win all the rest of his games and was declared winner on 12/14 with Rod runner up, on 10/14.
Auckland Croquet were very grateful to Pakuranga for agreeing to host this event when North Shore was unable to due to the condition of their lawns.
